Strange sound problem

Recommended Posts

Hi, Doom 3 rocks, I already beat it, but I had a sound problem for the whole game. Whenever I walk or run, there is a distinct, repeating "tick" sound. It is quite annoying and definitely should not be happening. I have a top of the line computer (3.6 GHz, 1 GB RAM, ATI X800 XT, Audigy 2, logitech z640 5.1 speakers) so this is very odd. Does anyone else have this problem and what can I do about it?

How To Fix The Annoying Ticking Sound
V 2.0
Made By: Verdale

#1.) Listen for clicking sound.

#2.) Once clicking sound starts, locate the source.

#3.) Follow it to the source.

#4.) Break the clock the ticking sound is coming from.

#5.) Burn the remains of the clock.

Rinse and repeat as needed.

Only when walking and running? It's not the sound of your footsteps is it?

dust0x614 knows what I'm talking about. It's definitely not intentional or the walking/running sound of footsteps. It's an annoying ticking sound, 1 every 2 seconds or so and I'm very surprised no one has found a solution to this because it must be happening to a lot of other people. PLEASE HELP. (Verdale didn't help much, except make me smile).

AHA, look on page 4 under doom 3 clicking sound. Basically, extract the pak003 file and delete step10.ogg. Stupid file, it thought it could mess with my ears BUT NO, he's gone, MWUHAHAHAH. Then rezip pak003 and no more clicks n' ticks. And my multiplayer still worked!

*NOTE: I assumed pak003 to be male.
