Problem about Doomsday host console...

My friend hosted the game, then i entered his IP and join the game.
When i click "Connect", the screen went back to desktop and say nothing.

Can everyone tell me what's the problem?
I'm using Doomsday 1.8.1-rc4
and jDoom Resource Pack 1.01

do you have a router?
do you have a NAT connection type?
can you post the doomsday.out file up here.

try with version 1.8.1.
try having his game registered on the doomsday master server.
make sure you allow the default port 13209
to have access on both tcp and udp.

I'm using 1.8.1. right now...don't I?
how can I register on the master server...and what is this?
the TCP adn UDP is 13209 default, I haven't change it.

yes make sure you open the doomsday default port 13209. I dont have a router so i cat tell you how to do it.

Finally i knew what's the problem...
I can play multiplayer with Doomsday now
But after I hosted the game
I pressed the console and wanted to enter some commands
Why I can't see any words? It's just the blank console there.

p.s. My friend's Doomsday haven't music, just have the sounds
I don't know why...the one he's using is the same as mine.

has he disabled music in the sound tab in kickstart?
is the music volume turned off in the game?

I know how to play multiplayer in Doomsday
but how about LAN game?
