verbatim Posted September 2, 2004 I havent forced AA in open GL mode. Its set by default in high quality, so I cant alter that. I turned it off in direct 3d mode just to be sure. No diff. Any ideas? 0 Share this post Link to post
Azreal_X Posted September 3, 2004 Get used to it. It's a game. Unless you play at INSANE resolutions, or have 8x antialiasing, or both, you will always notice jaggies like that, especially on repetative horizontal lines. 0 Share this post Link to post
verbatim Posted September 3, 2004 I play at 1600x1200. Its not jaggies, the vents are curved. Something diff. Anyone else see this? 0 Share this post Link to post
Bloodshedder Posted September 3, 2004 It is called aliasing. Even in the original Doom, it happens to certain flats. 0 Share this post Link to post
Jordan Posted September 3, 2004 i dont see anything wrong i with it, most games do look distorted when you look off into the distance.. normaly on the floor... 0 Share this post Link to post
Relica Religia Posted September 3, 2004 Those lines happen less on NVIDIA-based cards, I hear. So far that's true, as I only get minimal artifacts like that. 0 Share this post Link to post
AirRaid Posted September 3, 2004 Bloodshedder said:It is called aliasing. Even in the original Doom, it happens to certain flats. Quoted for truth. Anti-Aliasing and Anisotropic Filtering will lessen these effects, but sometimes it just happens. Especially with grate textures where you have a lot of thin lines. You just have to live with it really. 0 Share this post Link to post

Bloodshedder Posted September 6, 2004 Differing mipmap levels. It also depends on what resolution you're using. Higher resolution equates to more accurate sampling, so aliasing is diminished. 0 Share this post Link to post
BuzWeaver Posted September 6, 2004 That’s also partly a moray affect. 0 Share this post Link to post
Bloodshedder Posted September 6, 2004 Surely you mean moire, which is what that effect of aliasing is called, yes. 0 Share this post Link to post
