Performance

Turn off Anti-Aliasing
Turn off Anisotropic filtering
Set to Performance or High Performance
You can turn off secular (sp?) mapping and the advanced shadows off under Advanced Options.
Defrag your harddrive if you have not done so recently

Stuff in the game :

How to activate the editor

CTRL+ALT+~ = console

com_allowconsole1 = ~ is the console key

Press fire to talk to a person in your view

Press the flashlight key (F by default) to get out the flashlight, press it again to switch back to your previously selected weapon

Pay attention to your PDA and check out all logs and stuff

It is recommended you go to the options and allow Doom 3 to select the proper video options for your system.

You should get a piece of paper or something to write down codes to remember them easier.

Cheats are as follows : God, noclip, give all, give berserk

Random questions :

Q : I hate all the crap I have to go through to get to the console, is there a better way?
A : Why yes, there is. The easiest way to access the console is to create a shortcut and add the command line +seta com_allowconsole 1

Ex : "C:\Doom 3\Doom3.exe" +seta com_allowconsole 1

This allows the console to be accessed by just ~ and using the command line makes it so you don't have to use the ctrl+alt+~ method to type com_allowconsole 1 every time.

Q : How many CDs does Doom 3 come on?
A : 3

Q : How many MP maps are there?
A : 5

Q : I'm having a problem with my sound
A : Make sure the drivers for your soundcard are up to date. If you still have an issue, go to Start > Run > dxdiag and turn Sound Acceleration down one notch from full acceleration.

Q : I have 56k, can I play Doom 3 online?
A : Sorry, the answer is no, you cannot. Doom 3 is a broadband only game.

Q : The alpha was ugly, is Doom 3 still like the alpha?
A : Hell no, stinkpants. Doom 3 has evolved way beyond that crappy leak. Some areas are recognizable from the alpha though.

Q : I have Windows 98 but it says in the min. req. that XP is needed, is it lying?
A : Sorry, the answer is no, it is not. Doom 3 will not run on Windows 98, but I do not know if it will run on ME, CE, 2000 or anything else but XP.

Q : Hey buddy, would should I upgrade? My video card, my processor or my RAM?
A : Well, it really depends on your specs. If you have a decent enough card (like a 128mb one), then you might want to look at your ram if it is under 512mb or your processor if it is under 1.5ghz. If you've got a nice processor and decent ram but a crappy old GF3 or something, then you could get a newer video card. Remember though, you really don't need a truly beastly computer to run Doom 3 comfortably. I myself have a "low-end" system and my framerate is decent except in some enemy-heavy areas.

Q : Who worked on Doom 3?
A : Ripped from idsoftware.com

Just a quick addition while I work on consolidating these stickies:

NO requests for "hacks". This includes things like aimbots, wallhacks, speedhacks, etc.

NO posting of the above items.

If you're looking for the demo, check out this thread.
