I think the stats are out of 236 series only two teams have come back to win after being down 3-0. Those two teams were hockey teams.

Heh, I think everyone hates the Yankees, but the Mariners are definitely not arch rivals.

Every time the Mariners make it to the playoffs, the Yankees beat them, it seems.

You could almost say that about any team that plays the Yankees in the ALCS/DS, except for recently in '02 and '04.

In 2000 and 2001 (their last playoff run) anyway. In 1995 they beat the yankees in the first round though. IIRC that was their first ever post season appearance.

The Mariners have been around since 1977. They're still a pretty young team.

In '95 they beat the Yankees in the first round then lost to the Indians in the second.

In '97 they lost to the Orioles in the first round.

On '00 they beat the White Sox in the first round then lost to the Yankees in the second.

In '01 they beat the Indians in the first round, then lost to the Yankees again in the second.
