bytethebullet Posted January 9, 2005 I can’t access Doom 3 console. Get warning of unknown string id #str_xxxxx When I try to access my Doom 3 console mode using ctrl-alt-~, I get an error message saying: “WARNING: Unknown string id #str_07044 “WARNING: Unknown string id #str_00747 “WARNING: Unknown string id #str_00749 “WARNING: Unknown string id #str_00750 “WARNING: Unknown string id #str_00753 “WARNING: Unknown string id #str_00754 “WARNING: Unknown string id #str_00756 “WARNING: Unknown string id #str_007131 “WARNING: Unknown string id #str_007132 * * * The list continues on for about 29 total entries of such warnings. I think I first noticed this sometime after loading a mod for Doom 3. I think it was either the flashlight mod or the enhanced gore mod. I’ve also noticed that when I bring up the options mode to change settings for weapons, movement, etc, many of the key options have been replaced by or conjoined with a “#str_xxxxx” entry. For instance, under the movement options, crouch is listed as “C#str_07183” Forward is listed as “W#_07183” Sprint is listed as “#str_07029” Autosave is listed as #str_07178 Has anyone experienced this problem? Does anyone have a solution for it? There's your problem. Reinstall Doom3 and try again. Btw, resizing the topic title. Go easy with the caps locks, okay? 0 Share this post Link to post

After I uninstall DOOM3 and then reinstall it, do you think I can reinstall my saved games without corrupting the program again? 0 Share this post Link to post
Relica Religia Posted January 10, 2005 Copy the savegame files out of your directory, then put them back in when you reinstall. 0 Share this post Link to post
