Doom Con in Essen(Germany) this winter

Just want to know if the general interest exists for a Doom Con in Essen (Germany).

I would rent the local youth center for this.
Information in German about the consite
Confee is still to be calculated.
Tommorow i will take pictures of the site for better viewing and ask the "Chief" for the price for rentage of mainhall and a sleephall.

For the vote, please tell why you posted what.

Aha, thinking this further we would need to rent "Zeche Zollverein" for a german quakecon or what?

But i dont know what you have where you live, but the "Jutze Papestrasse" is the normal place ín Essen for conventions.
And if you insist, they even have a huge basement :P

No, seriously, my ideas would be that we deathmatch, have mapper compos, sprite compos, people who could teach others how to build levels/doom-sprites/weapon-sprites/... or how to be a better player and just having a fun time.

For example Graf Zahl give away some (zdoom) scripting tricks to the auditorium.
On Stage speed running.
Other could look over the shoulders of the best mappers of the community.

For those that said wrong place, tell me a better one ;)

And Essen isn't really that far from the Netherlands so Dutch doomers (like me) could participate.

But I don't think many people would travel for many hours, pay for a trainticket and fee just to sit around to talk to other doomgeeks.
You'll need something spectacular. Like naked chicks; the real John Romeo head on a stick; an demonstration of an actual plasma gun; etc...

Hmm, that would to be worked out.
There will be a programm, but no, no naked chicks.
Plasma Gun is no option too, Germany has a very restrictive weapon law.
I doubt that John would take the flight to a small Con in germany, even if he would have no problems paying for it.
And for the Consite, i will ahve a look for something more comfortable... where should people sleep?
There are very good youth hotels around here.

And i still would be happy if someone of the DW-Staff could Newspost this one as not every doomer that reads the news goes to the forum.

Where do you live? For a 4 day doom con (friday 12 o clock to monday 12 o clock)
i would even take the ride to Paris or Valencia. Paris per motorcycle and Valencia per flight.
I ahve just choosen Essen because i happen to live here. If someone suggest a nice youth hotel somewhere, my hears are open wide.
