lerner Posted April 17, 2005 Hey, I want to use Transfer Heights to make a psuedo 3d decoration (a C in the wall). I couldn't get it to work, however. Can someone help me? 0 Share this post Link to post
Graf Zahl Posted April 17, 2005 You can't do that. Transfer_Heights only adjusts the floor and ceiling plane of the sector during rendering. It is impossible to see multiple parts of that sector at once. 0 Share this post Link to post
lerner Posted April 17, 2005 Well crap. Is there something I could do to possibly make the effect, however? 0 Share this post Link to post
Graf Zahl Posted April 17, 2005 If you can live with the thing not having a solid top and bottom, yes. Otherwise you have to change to a source port that can do 3D floors. 0 Share this post Link to post
lerner Posted April 18, 2005 Oh you won't be able to get on it anyway. It's going to be a C in the wall, like I said before, and the space is far too small to put anything. So, what should I do? 0 Share this post Link to post
iori Posted April 18, 2005 Modify the texture of the wall and cut a cyan C into it. Then make a subsector behind the wall and put that same C wall in many linedefs behind it, creating the illusion of 3d. ___a___ |_______| |___b___| <--1. |_______| +-------+=======+----------+ c 2. 1: the subsector 2: the sector the player resides in a: back wall of the subsector b: linedefs inside the ssector that have the same texture as 'c'. c: the wall containing the C graphic. You will be able to see into the subsector. Ive probably dumbed this down far too much, but I was having fun with ascii diagrams. 0 Share this post Link to post
