Bucket Posted May 5, 2005 I'm sitting here, making my first map ever... and I'm starting to think that it'd be useful to have an item enumerator. Let me explain: On one side, you'd have the total amount of ammo stored in the map. The program would tally up the total damage you could do with that ammo. On the other side, it counts enemies and their health. It'd help game balance a lot. I was thinking of other comparisons to make, but stuff like balancing health is more dependent on player skill... 0 Share this post Link to post
The Flange Peddler Posted May 5, 2005 I'm pretty sure there's an external program that does this (dunno it's name, but I'm sure somebody will link to it). But yeah, I think that could actually be a pretty helpful feature to add to editors. 0 Share this post Link to post
Nick Perrin Posted May 5, 2005 Yeah! Great idea. Then of course you'd add some extra ammo to top it off so you dont completely run out, so you can balance in any way you want- ammo conservationist needed, or rambo guns-blazing style! 0 Share this post Link to post
DaniJ Posted May 5, 2005 With combo/check boxes to allow filtering by skill level of course. DO IT 0 Share this post Link to post
myk Posted May 5, 2005 The Flange Peddler said: I'm pretty sure there's an external program that does this (dunno it's name, but I'm sure somebody will link to it). Correct; like TCount, Stat, and DOOM Things Analyzer. 0 Share this post Link to post
Bucket Posted May 5, 2005 Ah. I figured as much. But still-- I thought of it without standing on the shoulders of giants, so RAWR! /me downloads that stuff 0 Share this post Link to post
