My Band(February Fires)Wants to do a cover song...any good suggestions on a good Rock song we can cover?

I dunno though, Rammstein might be hard if you lack a keyboardist, a second guitarist isn't really needed if you are recording / mixing, if it is live then yeah, you need one.

"Paint it Black" is a decent suggestion but like "Louie Louie" it's been covered by dozens upon dozens of bands.

Covering songs that came out just a few years ago seems silly to me but whatever works-

Manson's cover of Personal Jesus is pretty easy to do (guess there are advantages to making uncreative, unoriginal covers of old songs).

I remember hearing about some woman who did a cover album of songs sung by guys about relationships with women. She then used similar melodies and structures to tell the song from the woman's point of view. The end result is still highly "inspired by", but it's a step in that direction for sure.

Rage Agaist the Machine's cover of Microphone(or Mic) Fiend was very different to the origional. From the actual music to the lyrical content. So I guess it's more origional than keeping everything the exact same like Manson.

Always go for the B-sides, man. It will confuse the Hell out of all the wanabees in the crowd and the true music fans will like you more. Anyway, if I were to do any covers I'd like to do:
