Apparently I'm no longer an @home user! I am now @Shaw.ca. I thought I noticed something weird about how my internet was acting.... It's fast now. I'm getting dl speeds in excess of 300k/s regularly o_O. Ping rates for some site (like this one for example and somethingawful.com) have dropped considerably.

Unfortunately I can't bail on @home..... damn, nobody in this house listens to me about this stuff..... *sighs* this is bad... this is -very- bad... and if Comcast screws this up worse... many the Gods rot the higher-ups! Bah!

Yes, I've adopted saying 'gods'... the Chanur Saga... nobody knows what books I speak of, do they? Ah well... Pyanfar's one of the best leading ladies in a sci-fi book I think ^_^

Well, apparently, we don't have the old modem service we used too, so it will be a while until we get a new one.

Plus, our cable is still unburied. I guess the guys won't come around to bury it. Lawn mowing will be a bitch...

I'm on AT&T's so I shouldn't be affected. Not like it makes a difference; after Excite's shuts down, the average offline times for each company's @home service should be equivalent.

From what I understand, AT&T was set to buy Excite until the stockholders revolted. So if they were able to buy Excite's, then I doubt it's all the same service. The service may function the same but each is it's own separate network.

Huh. Anyways...this is my last post for tonight. And if you don't hear from me for a while, you know what happened. I hope it doesn't take too long for them to change our service. Well, I think I've made about 100 posts tonight...Vermillion Hells! I guess I've got to get on to bed now...

However, I'm not even bothering with Dial-up so I'll most likely be out of the scene for the next few weeks. I'm not paying royalties to AOL so I can browse pages at molasses speed and I'm sure as fuck not putting up with NetZero or any of the other worthless "free" dial-up services (I'd sooner pay with money than my sanity).

I guess this means Zaldron has a fair shot at beating my postcount :)
