New GERMAN Doom Forum

I just want to say hello and spread some news for german doomers:

http://doomgate.de hat jetzt endlich sein eigenes Forum, in dem es vornehmlich um Classic DooM geht. Da die deutsche Doom-Szene ein wenig am schrumpfen ist (doom3.de wurde eingefroren und bei doom3maps.org ist auch nicht mehr soo viel los...) hielt ich es für eine gute Idee, ein neues Zentralforum für deutsche Doomer einzurichten. Willkommen!!!

just for the curious: this is a brand new classic-doom-forum, mainly in german (but english written posts are welcome, too).

No offense but why would somebody choose to utilize your forums over, say...these ones? I guess this might appeal to German Doomers that would rather speak their native language than English but still...why?

Why indeed. Why have Doomworld when there's already a Planet Doom and NewDoom forums? Why play Doom when Doom3 is out?

I know it isn't a rule or anything, so you really don't have to, but please PLEASE do NOT post in a foreign language. This is pretty much an English-only forum, so that no user is excluded (unless he can't speak English, then I don't think he would be able to get very far in the registration process, eh?). You won't get punished for speaking a foreign language it is just that, well, IMO it is rude on a forum like this, to basically cut out a whole bunch of people because they can't speak your tounge. Just imagine if people posted in their native language on here! Danish, German, Spanish, Italian, all sorts of languages would be garbled in.

BTW:This was just to demonstrate ONE of the reasons for the new german Doom forum at http://doomgate.de : There _still_ are people out there, which cannot read and write english good enough or simply prefer their native language...

Hmm, I might add that there _still_ are people out there, which prefer Old school DooM and do not like Doom3 so much...
At least, I believe ... I met 1 or 2...

Nobody is angry. You didn't do anything wrong (I already told you that :-P). In fact, I'm glad you're here and you seem like a competent user from the start, which is refreshing :)

As BBG says, this is an English-language forum. Bad English is strongly discouraged, so foreign-language posts are also inappropriate.

All one has to do is go to http://www.babelfish.altavista.com/ go down to "Translate Webpage," click under "Select from and to Languages," change it to "German to English," and put in "http://doomgate.de/" ^_^
