Quick sound question

I'm trying to cut the size down of a wad so I've decided to convert some WAVs I'm using for ambient sounds into MP3. Will playing multiple MP3s slow down the game at all? Will there be any loss of performance?

Not unless your computer consits of a sub 400MHz processor and a integrated sound card.

Ok, so it will slow down but it won't really be noticeable.

OGG is one of those things that certain people would like you to believe is better, but in the end it doesn't matter.

ZDoom supports both, and any performance hit would be based on the individual's PC specs and the codec they're using (which is pretty standardized, so not much of a problem there). In any event, MP3 is preferable to WAV unless you're an audiophile.

OGG is compressed like MP3, but it's also different in some ways. I can't explain the technicalities, but OGG is better for filesize.

I prefer OGGs as well. They are a little smaller and sound just as good.

Yeah, OGG works better at lower bitrates than MP3 does.

There's also no forced silence at the end of OGG's.
