brightness problem with Doom vid

Yeah, I downloaded the teaser trailer for the new Doom movie, and worked fine on my computer. I sent it to a friend and for some reason it is showing really dark on his, you can't really see. I checked the settings on the monitor, everything is fine there, and I changed the settings in the video card, to change brightness, gamma level and such. The screen does get brighter but when the video plays it is still too dark. Anyone got an idea what I can do?

Check for "Overlay" brightness and gamma settings in his display properties.

Turn off the lights and wait till your eyes adjust.

Thanks the overlay controls activated once the video was playing, didn't think of that.
