Man Loses Case After Pleeing that GTA caused him to do it

a 20 year trying to argue that killing cops was allowed in GTA so he thought it could be done in real life lost. but what i dont understand is if it was ruled that games had nothing to do with it, then why are the victim's families suing the game companies?

The victim's families need lots of money to make themselves feel better about the deaths? I'm not really sure why, but you know how today's society is, people are crazy about suing others.

But that doesn't even make sense. It's not good to shoot cops in GTA, it's illegal, it gives you more wanted stars.

One nice message GTA is giving out however, is that suicide is impossible, you just wake up outside the hospital unharmed and with a clean slate, so why bother?
