Pointless wads...

what are some of the most pointless wads you've ever played?
i mean, not just crap wads, like that illusio pit one or something, but i mean wads that had quite a bit of work put into them but turned out to be pretty pointless.

heres one for starters!: doomuc.wad :S

it's better than chaoscorps' idea though but i hate the arfenhouse tie up, why can't they be more original a bit lol

Artifact This might be a considered a classic by some but you don't even finish the map at the end of map 3. You just die. According to the text file, this is intentional! Furthermore, there is a small room full of lava at the start. It is type 11, exit damage. It makes no sense---if you must have a room with 12 cyberdemons to ensure the player is killed at the end, why not make that room's floor type 11?)

X.WAD Well it's a porn wad so it's pretty high up the pointless scale, after all, you need two hands to play the game properly. However, it's pretty well made, I mean, it's a proper level, not just a bunch of linedefs thrown together. But, the exit is right behind you at the start. There's nothing to stop you just leaving. But this also seems to be intentional. The text file---if you can be bothered to read it, it's WrItTeN lIkE tHiS---says "don't do this" Why? Why not try to find some way to prevent the player's exit before he's found all the keys? It's dumb.

I found WolfenDOOM: First & Second Encounter to be extremely pointless. AND after I made My own wolfdoom... But still -- broken sounds, NO NEW MUSIC, super-easy difficulty (f***ing shotgun) and weak bosses (it used Sod's ones instead of Nocts.) In a word, cheesy.

But really, WOLFENSTEIN 3-D is the great king without a crown, whose place was stolen by doom, which could've been much a lot better - well now I have Zdoom and Eternity, sorry for trolling.

i think the point of it is to make one messed up druggy wad. and as that, it succeeds quite well.

Any map with a crushing ceiling trap you can't avoid unless you know it's coming.
Edit : Yes, crush to kill ceilings. :P

The wad sadhusct.wad. This one has a lot of hall of mirror effects as well as the levels are strangly and effortlessly designed. It's all mish mosh. No offense to those who like it. Plus the levels are too small and fast to complete.

Those aren't so bad with quick crushers, but with crushers that crush you to death, I couldn't agree more.
