putzdude Posted September 30, 2005 Oh my God, Sitters - you are awesome! Just downloaded your "Hell on Egypt" wad, plus the Risen3D port, which I'd never heard of before. Egypt plays real well, thanks a bunch! Keep up the great work, it's really appreciated!!!!! 0 Share this post Link to post
Nikanoru Posted September 30, 2005 Looks great, you'd almost think it's Doom3 from a distance. Though I always wonder about this sort of thing. If you're going to do this, what's the point anymore of mapping for a classic Doom port and not just mapping for Doom3 or something? Just wondering. 0 Share this post Link to post
sitters Posted September 30, 2005 Thanks everybody for the commend, I see that nobody notice that the next release of Risen3D has slopes. Maybe everybody thinks that this are models. Why mapping for a classic Doom port ? It is for me a challenge to create a 3D look in a 2.5D engine like a modern game. Greetings. 0 Share this post Link to post

wildweasel Posted October 10, 2005 It looks really fun, though I confess that I've never bothered playing your maps (even though I have all of them downloaded) - I guess it's the weapon models that put me off, because I can't stand looking at them. Not that this is your fault at all, of course. I just need to find better models. 0 Share this post Link to post
Nmn Posted October 10, 2005 Looks great Sitters :) As always. You should get the "mapper of Year" award for quantity alone :) EDIT: Corwin heh :) Deja vu 0 Share this post Link to post
Bank Posted October 10, 2005 Wow, I really like it, mind if I use it to show my friends what Doom can do today? 0 Share this post Link to post

Koko Ricky Posted October 10, 2005 Does Risen 3-D have support for multiple floors or are those bars models? Anyway, it looks freakin' awesome. It definitely looks like a game that could be on PSP or maybe a first generation PS2 game. There's a lot of realistic detail and excellent lighting. 0 Share this post Link to post
Xanthier Posted October 11, 2005 I notice Sitters likes to mix it up a bit, alternating tech with hell or dungeon. I think that's cool, makes your mapping more interesting and less tedious I imagine. 0 Share this post Link to post

It even runs quite fine on my system, where JDoom runs like some huge ancestor of the modern tortoise. Yea almost all my maps are converted by abbs and tested by hawkwind for Risen3D and they run like hell. Also my first map Hell on Egypt is updated and expanded with puzzles and constructions. The maps needs the last service release of Risen3D. You can download the map and the release from the Risen3D Site. Greetings ------------------------ IMO Risen3D the greatest port of all :). 0 Share this post Link to post
