Some tech map im working on for Zdoom, tell me what you think of this one.


Just played my map with Gzdoom also, it looks much better :)

The populace demands an episode! Single-maps are lame and disposable! Peas and carrots peas and carrots peas and carrots!

and blackish voidish nowhereland map is one theme I always wanted to try, mostly because it sounds easy, so have fun with that one.

Thanks for the replies.

Well before I start making my map I select textures that match good together.
As for the map its going to be an short one I think it will have about 5 minutes playing time when its done.
I do hope short maps are populair here.....

Thanks sitters the map is 100% done now, im going to upload it sometime tomorrow.
I am pleased on how the map turned out, it still is easy on UV too :)

Im allready working on textures and decorate monsters for my next map.
Im planning to make my next map pretty hard on UV, on all lower skill levels it will be easy to play.
So im creating a few decorate monsters that will only appear on UV, so people who dont like them can still enjoy it on an lower skill level.

Screenshots look impressive, as does the pallette. Reminds me of the pallette I made for Simplicity.. nice blues and greens. :D

I liked your palette very much so I used XWE to modify the original doom palette.
Don't worry I didn't ripped yours I respect you too much for that :)
This palette really enhances the look if my map, the original colors are just way too bright.
I worked hours on mine the colors are still a bit pale atm, but its getting there sooner or later.
Im glad you liked it.

Looks good but I have a little hint: Try to add some more open large areas with more large height differences to this map to make it look more different from your previous work.

Well I had one open area but it got scrapped cause it did look boring/ugly.
I suck at making large open areas, it never looks good enough for me.
Im going to try to make an big courtyard wih an black tower in the center.

Well that's one of the few problems in your maps. If you start playing them, you love them because they look awesome. The problem is that all the design of your rooms look very repeatable all the time, nothing new to look on for the player. With larger open areas or large rooms you can improve the maps a lot!

I liked those first screenshots.
In a way they really made me feel nostalgic about TNT Evilution from Final Doom.
And that's a good thing.
Why's the map currently on hold?
Whatever the final product turns out to be, I trust that it won't disappoint.

Cause I keep making stupid corridors, I want to give this map something different than corridor after corridor.
Boring stupid gameplay if you ask me, I want large open areas for this map.
The void idea I have isn't working out either, so before ill scrap the whole thing im putting it aside for a while.
