baronofhell Posted October 23, 2005 What was your favorite scene from the Doom movie? Please keep this thread only to this exact topic. If you feel the need to express your hatred or love for the movie in any other way, please refer to the other threads on the doom movie. Anyway, I have three. The first one of course was the fps sequence, then the pinky fight, and last but not least the hallway imp. It was that scene where Samantha and Duke were walking through the hallway, and the lights go out. A rottweiler is growling in the corner, then wimpers away. You hear the hissing noise of an imp(exactly like doom 3) and then it appears behind duke, and slaps the shit out of him!!! Duke proceeds to pull out his handgun shooting at it, while the imp gives chase. Yeah, that was great. 0 Share this post Link to post
Technician Posted October 24, 2005 Although I hated the movie I found the first person view very entertaining. 0 Share this post Link to post
mkfanatic Posted October 24, 2005 I thought the First Person sequence was awesome but the rest of the movie was pretty much a let down. The BFG was pretty freaking awesome too, even though we don't get to see it kill anything, that kinda sucked. And I thought the end fight between Sarge and Reaper was pretty cool too, even if it was very un-Doomlike. 0 Share this post Link to post
Technician Posted October 24, 2005 Would have been a better fight had it Reaper and Rock were high on berzerker packs. 0 Share this post Link to post
Texas Libra Posted October 24, 2005 The FPS sequence, by far. It was one of the main reasons I wanted to see it after all. I may go see it again just for that scene ;) 0 Share this post Link to post
Demon Hunter Posted October 24, 2005 I liked the whole film, I noticed a few similarites to something I wrote here a while back, one of my five mile long fan-fics, though it probably a conisidence. My favorite part had to be the fight between Sarge and Reaper. It would have been over quite quickly if they were berserked out, though. 0 Share this post Link to post

baronofhell Posted October 24, 2005 One idea id could take from this movie for future doom games, have a variation of imps. Rather than having all imps look the same, have some with the eight eyes, others with that fat head with knock out slaps, or some that throw more intense fireballs, or faster. But uh, yeah, another scene that I liked was the sewer imp(the one that looked like an imp) when it gave Goat a serious hicky! 0 Share this post Link to post
ShaneAmp Posted October 25, 2005 That FPS really shouldnt have been one long, drawn out scene in the movie, it shoulda switched between that and other views throughout it. It made what coulda been a neat feature to the movie, kinda dumb, i thought. 0 Share this post Link to post
lupinx_resurrected Posted October 25, 2005 The ending fight was pretty cool. 0 Share this post Link to post
DoOmEr4LiFe Posted October 25, 2005 The last 20 minutes weren't bad despite it not being Doom. Too bad the hour and 10 minutes before it sucked a hard one. 0 Share this post Link to post

In fact, I enjoyed the entire movie right up until the Sarge and Reaper decided to throw down. Better ending (and much more fitting, IMO): when Reaper gets the drop on Sarge, he shoots him in the throat and watches him choke to death on his own blood. That cat and mouse scene was intense enough, didn't need to turn it into a wireworked WWF showdown. 0 Share this post Link to post
-_DLD_- Posted October 25, 2005 I liked the FPS sequence because it was so...DooM. There should be a sequal where Reaper (aka Doomguy) has to go to Hell to fight more (and bigger) Demons. I found it fitting that Pinky was turned into a Pinky. It'd be cool if they discovered that C24 came from Hell itself or something, and had to kill a Cyber Demon and a Spider Mastermind or some shit like that. 0 Share this post Link to post
The SuperFly Posted October 25, 2005 How's this...They brought it through with them. Hell comes to Las Vegas! =D 0 Share this post Link to post
-_DLD_- Posted October 25, 2005 There should be a deleted scene where all the actors are playing DooM ][. There should be another one of the Marines making the "bigouch" face with a max-sized bigouch behind them. They could also make the other Doomguy faces. 0 Share this post Link to post
Apothem Posted October 25, 2005 My favorite scene(s) woulda had to of been the ending with the fight scene along with the very entertaining FPS sequence. 0 Share this post Link to post
baronofhell Posted October 26, 2005 Another scene I like in the movie, is when Samantha is walking down the hall with the "marines", must be cold on the UAC facility, if you get my drift! hehe 0 Share this post Link to post
-_DLD_- Posted October 26, 2005 I like the part where Reaper has to point out that Samantha's his sister. 0 Share this post Link to post
baronofhell Posted October 26, 2005 I pretty much like every scene with Samantha. 0 Share this post Link to post
DemonDemon Posted October 26, 2005 I liked the part just before the last fight sequence where Sarge asks Grimm how much ammo he has left and Grimm does the same. There's just something about the two at that moment that says they have been friends for who knows how long and even as they are about to kill each other, they still hold their respect. Second favorite part is when Sarge first used the BFG. I already knew the blast was blue instead of green (basicaly they mixed the BFG and Plasma gun together so there wasn't too much tech being thrown around), however I had no idea they would take the effect of it THAT far. So my reaction matched up with Sarge rather well. :D Also later in the movie, yet again just before the final fight, there's a whole new blue melting corridor special thanks to the BFG. :) 0 Share this post Link to post

Brewtal_Legend Posted October 27, 2005 I thought it would have been cool if Sarge had turned more. Possibly if he had turned into the cyber demon. In the end he didn't change that much before he died. 0 Share this post Link to post

Then it was just some gloves ripping. I think it was the filmmakers trying to present that 'man is the true evil' thing in a more literal sense. 0 Share this post Link to post

Now that you mention it, that would've made more sense considering this movie was supposed to be based on Doom 3 where the gameplay is intercut with cinema sequences. 0 Share this post Link to post
Mivalekan Posted October 28, 2005 The scene where "Destroyer" (I think that was his name?) got in a fist fight with the Hell Knight in the jail pit thing. 0 Share this post Link to post
mkfanatic Posted October 29, 2005 Yeah, that scene was pretty interesting. It was a bit more hardcore in the book though, more raw and animalistic, but the whole swinging the computer around and hitting the monster was pretty neat (which was not in the book). 0 Share this post Link to post

This peaks my interest...is there anything else in the book that isn't in the film? Usually novelizations include extra footage that was cut, but I've never read one that had a filmed scene changed. 0 Share this post Link to post
