Question about palette limitations in source ports?

Are there any source ports other than JDoom (via the .pk3 method) that remove the 256 color limit on textures, graphics, and sprites?

If so, is there some way to prevent XWE from remapping the image to the Doom palette?

ZdoomGl allows you to have hi colour png textures inside a wad.

As for XWE, im pretty sure it has an option to load a lump without changing it - maybe get the latest version?

The latest version of EDGE also allows JPG and PNG full colour images.

And the latest version of XWE allows you to import anything you want as raw data (thereby avoiding any kind of automatic palette remapping).
