Hockey World Juniors!

Yep, the Gold Medal game is on Thursday!

It looks like it'll be Canada vs. Russia again (the Ruskies are up 5-1 on the Americans with less than 5 minutes left in the game).

I'm obviously cheering for Canada, being a Canadian.

Who do you think will win?

Here's hoping for another Canadian victory!

EDIT: It's official. Canada vs. Russia for Gold! The Russians soundly thumped the Americans 5-1.

The Yanks will face off for Bronze against the Fins (who lost tonight to Canada, 4-0) on Thursday before the Gold Medal game.

Russia had better win, or I'm going to lose a lot of money on Plutonium.

I'm Canadian but I accidentally voted for Russia. We're talking about hockey right?

Yeah, this is about the Hockey World Junior Gold Medal game in Vancouver.

If Canada does win, it won't be easy...but we've got the home crowd on our side, so that should help.

I'm sure of it. And if not, we still win in the long run with our above average health plan. Now only if eye and dental was covered.

Yeah. The crowd supported the Russians last night when they beat the Americans. The one goal I saw when I glanced at the game (it made it 3-1 or 4-1) I saw a bunch of people in the crowd waving a huge Soviet Union flag. I'm not joking either. It had the Hammer and Sickle and everything.

I guess I'm not the only one who always refers to them as Communists.

Hockey is a sport that is known greatly by both of these countries. It's just going to boil down to coaching and smart play. And opinion.

One of the Russians took a huge dive trying to draw a penalty...no dice there.

Half the team way crying after they lost, heh.

That was an awesome thing to watch, Canada winning the Gold in Vancouver.

Found buried at Centre Ice after the game was a lucky Toonie. If you're not familiar with the tradition, then it's basically what we do before every national-level tournament since 2002. We bury a Loonie (well, this time it was obviously a Toonie) at Centre Ice...and everytime we've won!

Here's hoping for Olympic Gold as well! <3

The juniors didn't seem to hold much water with me this year...what with the Olympics a liitle over a month away and all.

Meh, IMO the only team that could actually stand a chance against Canada is the Czechs...they have a good team, but just look at our roster...

Heh.

Apparently in another Olympics or two the USA will have a very damn good team and Canada may get dethroned. =( I hope I'm wrong.
