Nightmare Doom Posted January 19, 2006 Mine has to be Adolf Hitler from Wolf3D anything else? 0 Share this post Link to post
wildweasel Posted January 19, 2006 For just one sprite? The star sentinel from Blake Stone. Unlike many of the other enemies who just die with exit wounds, the Sentinel loses his arm. The fact that his scream isn't so much a scream as a whimper just makes me feel a little pity for the poor guy. For multiple sprites: Rise of the Triad in "EKG" mode. 0 Share this post Link to post
pilottobombadier Posted January 19, 2006 The archvile from Doom 2 doesn't exactly die too pleasantly, although in non-sprite games, I would say gutting someone with a shotgun in SoF 1 was pretty gruesome. 0 Share this post Link to post
DOOMENSTEIN Posted January 19, 2006 When the U3 chops off Leon's head with the plaga in his back and pulls off his legs as he lay dying in RE4. 0 Share this post Link to post
baronofhell Posted January 19, 2006 When you kill a mancubus in the original doom, that was pretty cool. 0 Share this post Link to post
Sharessa Posted January 19, 2006 Ichor said:Ludicrous Gibs! Also, shooting off someone's appendage in GTA3. Low poly, but that's some crazy bloodspray. 0 Share this post Link to post
TheDarkArchon Posted January 19, 2006 I'm with the ROTT crowd with this. The Chaingun guy's regular death comes fairly close, though. 0 Share this post Link to post
leileilol Posted January 19, 2006 i also forgot to mention Bionic Commando. 0 Share this post Link to post
Technician Posted January 19, 2006 I think the Commando from Duke 3D. His endtrails litterally trail out of him. For a 3D game I have to to with cutting some one in half in Postal 2 addon. 0 Share this post Link to post
Zaldron Posted January 19, 2006 Probably a StarCraft sprite, maybe the Terran Marine or Medic. 0 Share this post Link to post
Alboroto Posted January 19, 2006 Terran Marine, it's one of the best... Worst: Contra. 0 Share this post Link to post
leileilol Posted January 19, 2006 The original C&C had alot of gory little unit deaths 0 Share this post Link to post
caco_killer Posted January 19, 2006 Shooting hole in a Pur-Linn's stomach in Turok 2. It'll actually look at the hole before it falls to the ground. 0 Share this post Link to post
Jello Posted January 19, 2006 Not sure what is name is, but the big green monster in The Halls of the Wretched Pox from Curse of the Catacombs. His name might actually be Pox. After you kill him, he stands there for a second shaking, then his torso starts getting larger, and eventually he explodes, leaving only the legs and pelvis. That and when you shoot a guy in the stomache with a shotgun in soldier of fortune one and two. They grab their intestines as they spill out and try to shove them back in before they collapse. 0 Share this post Link to post
DooMer87 Posted January 20, 2006 Well, in Goldeneye for N64, when you would shoot a guy in the crotch, ear, or other parts it would take him quite a while to die. You just sit there and watch, heh. Edit: post 450 0 Share this post Link to post
Udderdude Posted January 20, 2006 I'd have to say most painful death animation is anything in Half Life 2 involving grenades in a closed space. I've seen some pretty gruesome looking ragdoll action. Aside from that, anything in Mortal Kombat takes the cake for pure sadism. 0 Share this post Link to post
leileilol Posted January 20, 2006 Mortal Kombat's nothing when compared to Eternal Champions CD (SegaCD). Goriest fighting game ever... period. (It's best to drag these links into your address bar) 0 Share this post Link to post
Nmn Posted January 20, 2006 RE zombie (original) bites off Kenneth's head. Uncensored version. 0 Share this post Link to post

TheDarkArchon Posted January 20, 2006 O_O The designers must've had a pretty twisted sense of humour. 0 Share this post Link to post
Bashe Posted January 20, 2006 Heh, the rest of them are pretty good, too. 0 Share this post Link to post
