caco_killer Posted April 17, 2006 I found this messed up ad in PC Gamer. It's supposed to be for the Dungeons & Dragons Miniatures Game (it's not a computer game), but it's looks like someone made a mistake... 0 Share this post Link to post
wildweasel Posted April 17, 2006 You'll notice that the ESRB symbol in the lower left is not "rating pending" but "roleplaying." It's obviously a spoof. 0 Share this post Link to post

Epyo Posted April 18, 2006 I don't get the funniness of the original post. Are companies not allowed to say "Pwned"? Or maybe there's another joke I'm not seeing? 0 Share this post Link to post
Bucket Posted April 18, 2006 Yeah, I asked myself the same thing. But then I have to remind myself that it's not that I don't get it, it's that I do and it isn't that funny. 0 Share this post Link to post

I think the humor is that it's very unexpected to see an advertisement use slang typically seen witihn the "internet culture." Even though D&D is perceived as nerdy, it's still surprising to see usage of the term. 0 Share this post Link to post

AirRaid Posted April 18, 2006 What's more depressing is that someone made a typo and it stuck for the next TEN YEARS. 0 Share this post Link to post
