AndrewB Posted May 6, 2006 Win2k computer fresh installed latest service pack hooked to cable mobem without router gets swamped with spyware how best to avoid that? 0 Share this post Link to post
myk Posted May 6, 2006 The safest is to get the system updates from a disc. If you have another system, get the updates and copy them over. (If Microsoft still lets you download them without actually doing so with the system in question). Otherwise I'm not sure, but firewalls sometimes help, while you're downloading the stuff. Once you've updated all the critical security stuff the spyware based on system exploits and worms won't be able to get installed. Uh, but it's already fully updated? Can't be. 0 Share this post Link to post
AndrewB Posted May 6, 2006 It had Service Pack 4, which I doubt has all the hotfixes. 0 Share this post Link to post
