Who uses 3d sound?

Is this helpful? Will it work in multiplayer? What does it do? Can it work with headphones? Please explain how it works.

EDIT2: it assumes my subwoofer is supposed to be behind me, thats what it does.

I'm not even sure what 3D Sound does aside from really screwing up the sound channels on my Sound Blaster X-Fi, so I turn it off.

it simply uses your extra speakers when available. No, it doesn't magically make your 2 speaker headphones have the ability to produce sounds behind you.

I was wondering about this. I don't know if Doom is too old to do this with headphones or not. I haven't ever tried the 3d sound option.

Let me guess. You use 3d sound? ;)

I use -phase and -opl3 for Doom. I like it.

I don’t use 3D sound, I did not know that (Z)Doom can do that.
