A Serious Question (Or Two)

Recommended Posts

I only need an answer to one of these two questions:

1)Is there any possible way for D! to run on Windows 98se?

2)Is there some program like D! that runs in Windows 98se? By that, I mean a program that puts in random level order, supports levels from multiple wads, and possibly allows for random items...

Thanks for the help.

Sounds familiar... maybe you should try running it with a deccelerator like MoSlo.

But then again, I'm dumb and don't know shit.

Runtime Error 200, yeah that's the infamous Pascal bug.

Search for the Turbo Pascal fixer. Or get MoSlo like Lament says.

Search for "Runtime Error 200" on Google. There IS a way ^_^

It's all about CPU's with frequencies higher than 200mhz running programs made in Turbo Pascal 4 or 5, I don't remember.

Well, I can't seem to figure out any of the patches or anything. Are you guys telling me there's never been another D!-like frontend made?

Well the first time, it said there was some kind of fault: 650D:4F30
Then the second time it said the same thing, but the error was FFFF:FFFF
THen the third time, it froze my computer.
It might be the D! program thats doing this.

Oh those aren't that bad, come off it. It doesn't even take Outpatient to get one of them removed.

try this old program: SETVER

do you have it? if you dont, i think you can get it on the win98 cd or at microsoft.com

in config.sys, add
DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\SETVER.EXE (or wherever it is)

then, goto dos and type

SETVER C:\D! D!.EXE 6.22

replace C:\D! with your drive and directory, and replace D!.EXE with whatever the exec is called. 6.22 is just a DOS version. you can also try version 5 if that doesnt work.

i dont know if this will work with D!, but it helps many old dos programs of mine.

good luck,
xooz98
