Help with custom stuff

Recommended Posts

I am wondering if somebody can tell me how to put custom textures into my own wad file? I mean I want to merge the textures into the wad file that has the maps etc, using Slumped or XWE.

Or point me to a guide that tells me how...?

I can help, but your question was a little ambiguous.
Lets see:
* You have your level(s) in a wad
But where do you have the textures?
* A separate wad
* Saved as a lump on the hard drive
* Saved as individual patches on hard drive
Answer that question and I can help.

And yes, I would recommend getting WINTEX if you have Windows.

Hmmm

I have my levels in a wad and the textures are also in a wad file. I want to make it so the one wad has both levels and custom textures.

First. BACK UP BOTH PWADS
Second. Get WINTEX running.
Third. Select the texture wad in the top window.
Fourth. Select the level wad in the bottom window.
Fifth. See the 'Join PWADS' button on the right? Click it.

Just make sure that you have the right game selected (top)

Hmm...
If you can Email me the two wads at some secret place I can email one back to you. In the meantime I will try to figure out what went wrong.
EDIT
Did the texture wad work originally?
Well what did you do to get this error?
EDIT
It's OK as long as you backed up the PWADs before. I am not a WINTEX 'guru' either, I have noticed that it tends to crash.

OOps nevermind-

I accidentilly chose the wrong pwad to modify (bhouse2 instead of BHOUSE2) And the former was kinda corrupted. BHOUSE2 was successfully joined to d1gxtd2 and I now have my goal.

Thanks.
