John Smith Posted July 26, 2007 I give it 6 months before it's either dead as a doornail or a glorified social club. 0 Share this post Link to post
Dr. Zin Posted July 26, 2007 I'd bet on two months. That aside, good luck. 0 Share this post Link to post
Bloodshedder Posted July 26, 2007 Freenode (and OFTC for that matter) have never historically liked Doom-related channels because of the idiots they tend to attract. 0 Share this post Link to post

Stealthy Ivan Posted July 26, 2007 This might work if the people actually talked about the game...Didnt they try this before and it failed? 0 Share this post Link to post

YMB Posted July 26, 2007 Catoptromancy said:Doom2.exe Yes, folks, it's the amazing Doom2.exe! Amazing features, including: -Save Games! -Amazing 320x200 resolution! -Full sector-based lighting effects! -128x128 textures! Seriously, nobody uses doom2.exe. (I know someone here will correct me, though.) 0 Share this post Link to post

There's a pretty recent thread in the Source Ports forum about what engines people use. It's obvious people will continue using the plain engine (or a pure port of it, such as Chocolate Doom) until the game is forgotten. It's even easier now than a couple of years back, because (DOSBox) emulation has improved. 0 Share this post Link to post
