Automap arrow change

I've noticed this before, that when you use the iddt cheat, the player arrow gets some marks added to it. What are they for? Do they represent something? Leftover code?
Does anyone know about this?

"DDT", for Dave Taylor, who wrote the automap code, and signed his messages with =-ddt->. Unless you're playing Boom, in which case it's "JFF" for TeamTNT member Jim Flynn (I'm not sure which Boom derivatives still use this)...

IIRC his middle initial is D :P Dave D. Taylor. But maybe I've just gone crazy?
