YMB Posted August 12, 2007 Woohoo! I'm making a WAD. I'm posting a very early beta here for anyone who wants to try it. It has an exit, but it doesn't look great yet. I'll be adding more architecture, lighting, enemies, etc. as per your suggestions! Linky: YMB's Lair Beta v0.4 0 Share this post Link to post
MegaZzZeux Posted August 12, 2007 From your link, all I'm getting is the "fortunecity" logo in the top left corner of the page. Nothing else. 0 Share this post Link to post

EANB Posted August 13, 2007 Functions fine for me. For new mappers, these are some good rules to follow (which I do) from John Romero himself: always changing floor height when I wanted to change floor textures using special border textures between different wall segments and doorways being strict about texture alignment conscious use of contrast everywhere in a level between light and dark areas, cramped and open areas making sure that if a player could see outside that they should be able to somehow get there being strict about designing several secret areas on every level making my levels flow so the player will revisit areas several times so they will better understand the 3D space of the level creating easily recognizable landmarks in several places for easier navigationFrom the Doom wiki 0 Share this post Link to post
