Need opengl

Recommended Posts

My PC doesn't support it, and was wondering if anyone knew of a site to download opengl drivers or something. It's not for Doom, i'm happy with the good old software rendering, But I wanna use it for Quake 3: Arena. I love that game, and I have enough processing speed, RAM and hard drive, but unfortunately the game requires opengl. Any help would be appreciated.

I found a tool that may solve your problem:

http://www.bluesnews.com/files/idstuff/quake3/win32/glsetup.shtml

HEY DARKHAVEN
GLSETUP IS OLD/OUTDATED AND IS MEANT FOR RETARDED VOODOO2 USERS WHO NEVER UPDATE DRIVERS FOR Q3TEST (see old .plans of aggravance from Brian Hook on why glsetup exists)

also, glsetup comes on the q3 cd, so that suggestion was redundant

and yes download your vid card drivers, it contains the 'latest opengl'. If that doesn't work, or you have a shitergrated video card that is M$ biased for D3D, you may try Scitech's GLDirect, which has gone freeware a couple years back.

Thanks for the link. Seems my PC has opengl now. Downloaded the quake 3 demo earlier and it ran fine. So I'm certainly gonna get it off ebay soon. Thanks very much.

Does q3a have a software mode? I know Quake 2's is pretty badass.

Yeah it was, Software rendering with working dynamic lights makes me bust in my pants. I wish I could play software doom with dynamic lights.

Well, Doomsday can use D3D, which I prefer.

You've completely missed the point.
