Tactics

This may sound kind of like a dumb idea, but I think it could work: Double the amount of damage that bullets do to you to make it more realistic, and be sure to add plenty of cover to duck behind. This could make a whole new kind of gameplay, or it could just suck, depending upon how the level layout is. Anybody know of any mods like this? Anyone think it's a good idea?

isnt there some wad on the top ten from 10 years of doom list called twilight warrior that is more realistic?

Twilight Warior and Covert ops are the ones that are most renowned. But there's others.

Others that make use of crouching?

Some source ports enable crouching, so it's not limited to specific wads.

I know that already, that's not what I'm asking about.

Exactly. If I wanted to die every two seconds I'd play Hidden and Dangerous or something. Doom isn't a realistic game.
