A microphone recording software

Hi

I'm looking for a microphone recording software. I can't use the one on windows because my dumbass dad replaced it with the "microsoft plus voice command" which doesn't work.

Audacity should work.

Seconding Audacity. It's an excellent program for microphone recording.

I used to use Goldwave for a lot of audio recording and editing, but this was years ago; I don't know Audacity would compare.

Goldwave is great. I like the tally at the bottom of the screen to remind you how much money you owe them for over-use of their shareware. I think mine is somewhere around $400.

audacity isn't great for its ui and it can't save small files properly. always at least needs to insert 20 seconds of silence or so.

Oh, yeah, Audacity, but since everyone else mentioned it I guess I'm not adding much.

Heh, I just installed Audacity like yesterday. A friend told me to download it after I told her I wanted a career in audio recording. I didn't know what it was when I installed it. This has...minimal usefulness.

Strange, it doesn't seem to do that for me.

Goldwave is excellent for any sound needs. If I ever need to edit a sound and use a huge variety of methods to do so I just pop it open and it has what I need.
