What is the worst WAD you ever played and why?

I agree. It appears to be only a collection of randomly-shaped rooms that include HOMs, Doom enemies with wierd altered sprites, and Super Mario music O.o. That said, I would imagine that this is a jokeWAD and not a serious attempt, in which case I wouldn't say it's the worst.

In my opinion, the absolute worst WAD would be something that, even if you don't take it seriously, it will literally agitate you. Something that takes annoying to a whole new level. Something so aggravating that playing it would be a legitimate sentence for various crimes and actually lower the crime rate. =P

I've never played a WAD that bad (thankfully), but I'm sure it's out there, and that's what I'd say is the worst.

I enjoyed sadhusct in a twisted way. It's probably the same twisted part of me that loves Sky May Be.

There is this one wad I remember made by some mapper called Kristy or something. It was a shitfest and a half.

ZBloodpack was just terrible. It used every gun in the ZDoom weapon resource wad, ever monster in the ZDoom monster resource wad, 100's of stolen resources (some from Nimrod i might add, dont tell Kristus!) the architecture was reminiscent of 1994 and the ZDoom features that were used, were so terribly implemented that it would have been better without them.

Mattbratt's level pack and mattbratt's other wad The Road to Wolfenstein are perhaps the worst things to ever grace the idgames archives. The first four levels from mattbratt's level pack were apparently stolen.

Some of the comments (reviews) at the archives just sum these wads up..

Nightmares of Loki - very dumm, even for the year 1999. The levels are too big, design is primitive, many of them contain just a few monsters..

• The majority of the map is a huge waist-high 64-wide maze divided into a number of sections.
• Each one is riddled with hitscan weapon-using monsters and all the ammo and health is hidden (it's a maze after all)
• You have to traverse the maze several times to find the keys, get to the locked doors around the edge, get all the secrets etc.
• The worst part is the maze is sprinkled with invisible teleporter lines that unceremoniously dump you back at the start position every time you think you're actually getting somewhere.

Downloaded when I was new to PWADs so I paid it more attention than I would have if I downloaded it, say, now. Thus the first really frustrating map I played all the way through, so it sticks in the mind. These days I'd look at something like this and go "can't be bothered, sorry"

Another vote for The Sky May Be. So twisted and insane, it must be the work of an evil genius.

DOOMJR.wad was really bad if people still remember that.

and Hexen.wad is bad too.

i laughed at the giant vagina. it was humorous. i bet ks2 map 30 is probably a pendulum... a swinging big dildo pendulum.

the woman was definitely amazing to pull off in vanilla doom though, you would have to admit.
