Xtife Posted July 12, 2008 hey all this is not a doom editing question exactly, but a problem with uploading to the archives whenever i try, i get this message from filezilla "Response: 421 Sorry, there is already 1 user from 72.140.144.61 logged on. Try again in 10 minutes. Error: Could not connect to server" 0 Share this post Link to post
Nuxius Posted July 12, 2008 Go to Options => File Transfer Settings, and find the line that says "Use multiple connections to transfer files" and uncheck the box next to it. 0 Share this post Link to post

Xtife Posted July 12, 2008 what the heck version is that i have nothing like that in my options menu 0 Share this post Link to post
GreyGhost Posted July 12, 2008 I'm using version 3.0.11 which lets you configure transfer settings in the Site Manager on a site-by-site basis (for the archive - limit number of simultaneous connections to 1). The same can also be done through the Settings/Transfers page if you want to limit connections to ALL sites. Nuxius said:Filezilla Options. http://filezilla.sourceforge.net/do...iletransfer.htmThat documentation is 5 years old - dare I say Timeline. 0 Share this post Link to post
myk Posted July 12, 2008 Right, the server allows only 1 connection per IP. If the user's FTP program tries to initiate multiple connections to optimize connectivity, it is rejected. Ty set that so that users wouldn't hog up the few (5, I think) total connections available. 0 Share this post Link to post
Xtife Posted July 12, 2008 im using 3.1.0 beta 1 so its no wonder if that stuff is so old :D ill see if i can find this in the site manager 0 Share this post Link to post
Xtife Posted July 12, 2008 ugh now im getting a connection refused message Status: Resolving address of archives.gamers.org Status: Connecting to 67.215.232.190:29... Status: Connection attempt failed with "ECONNREFUSED - Connection refused by server". Error: Could not connect to server 0 Share this post Link to post
Xtife Posted July 12, 2008 i managed to get it all working fine again and i uploaded the zip of my map however, i then tried to upload the txt file that needed to be with it and i got the same "you are already connected to the server" message i reconnected and tried again, and the server timed out when i was uploading it, so theres now a 0 byte file there :O i swear, these tight restrictions do more harm than good 0 Share this post Link to post
myk Posted July 12, 2008 Xtife said: i swear, these tight restrictions do more harm than good Well, the server was clogged for days (no one could upload anything) when someone set his client to use multiple connections on it once, which is what prompted Ty to set the current settings. If the ZIP contains the text file Ty will likely take it from there. 0 Share this post Link to post
Xtife Posted July 12, 2008 i mean, stopping people from doing that is one thing but it shouldnt effect legit users like this eh, no worries. Ty is a cool guy 0 Share this post Link to post
CodenniumRed Posted July 16, 2008 Even when I changed the simultaneous connections amount to only 1 I coould still never upload my own levels either, lol. >< 0 Share this post Link to post
GreyGhost Posted July 16, 2008 A few questions- Can you connect to the archive using FileZilla? What error message are you seeing? No other open connections to the archive - web browser? Do you have problems with other FTP sites? What OS are you using? 0 Share this post Link to post
Xtife Posted July 16, 2008 i can connect fine with filezilla the only errors are the ones iv posted no other connections, i made sure of that no problems with other ftp sites winxp sp3 0 Share this post Link to post
GreyGhost Posted July 18, 2008 The questions were intended for CodenniumRed (who mightn't have revisited this thread yet) - suppose I should have said so earlier. <silly me> Looks like you more-or-less have things under control apart from finding a quieter time of day to upload. That last "already connected" error message might be an issue with the Beta - try using the last stable release. 0 Share this post Link to post
