kevingpo Posted September 26, 2008 It would be VERY useful if the Register link at the top changed to Log out... It seems that the only Log out link I can find is on the front Doomworld forums main page... and it's right at the bottom of the page. All other pages there's none. I was using a public computer and wanted to log out... and depesperately couldn't find it... 0 Share this post Link to post
Doom_Dude Posted September 26, 2008 On the main forum page the logout button is at the bottom right.. [edit]shit that's what you said. :p I thought you meant some.... never mind. 0 Share this post Link to post
Lüt Posted September 26, 2008 Hmm, yeah I guess a feature like that never occured to those of us who live here. 0 Share this post Link to post
Bucket Posted September 26, 2008 The log out command is in the browser. Look for a button that says "Delete Cookies". 0 Share this post Link to post
Planky Posted September 26, 2008 Incognito mode for the win! Seriously, I had to go looking for it the other day for the same reason. I don't think I've had to log out for more than three years... 0 Share this post Link to post
Grazza Posted September 26, 2008 If you normally only browse from your own computer, this isn't an issue of course. But having used public terminals quite often, sometimes of the coin-op and limited-functions type, I agree that it can be quite a pain to have to navigate back to the main forums page in order to log off before the time runs out. So a log-off button available from anywhere would be useful indeed. 0 Share this post Link to post
myk Posted September 26, 2008 Bucket said: The log out command is in the browser. Look for a button that says "Delete Cookies". Which would log you out of other stuff you're logged into. Presumably you could access the cookies folder and delete the specific cookie, which seems more work than going back to the front page of the forum, if the public terminal even allows one to access that folder. 0 Share this post Link to post
Lüt Posted September 26, 2008 Most of the public terminals I've used have been configured smart enough to reboot and clear all data after every user finishes or their session expires. 0 Share this post Link to post
Grazza Posted September 26, 2008 Very few, if any, of the ones I have used do that. 0 Share this post Link to post
Lüt Posted September 27, 2008 Heh well you've probably used like half the terminals in the world. My statistics include about 5% of the ones within a 5-mile radius of a certain Chicago suburb. 0 Share this post Link to post
GreyGhost Posted September 27, 2008 It's not his computer, he's about to run out of time and some guy wearing a rancid overcoat is waiting for his daily fix of porn. :P Assuming whoever administers the computer hasn't disabled the option - Tools/Delete Browsing History/Delete all - then close the browser. I wouldn't mind seeing more log-out links. 0 Share this post Link to post
VileSlay Posted September 28, 2008 there is a logout link next to your user name when you are composing a new post, whether it be a new thread or a reply. easy way if you don't feel like goin to the bottom of the main page is hitting the new blog link at the top. it's on every page. 0 Share this post Link to post
