Doom64 EX (Feedback build) Now at v1.1c

That link ain't working for me. I want to try out the new 1.1c, but I'm stuck with 1.1b due to broken link....

Can ya please reupload the download link?

Also I'm hoping 1.1c is now compatible with the use of gamepads so I can play this game with my Xbox 360 controller.... If not then there's aways a next update version to wait for......

Do ya also plan to add the new levels Nukage Facility, Shadows Watching, Forbidden Deeper, Crisis, Death Labs and Doom 64 Museum from............

It would be great if ya can add that in as well since Doom 64 TC doesn't work in my computer for some unknown reason but I like your Doom 64 EX alot better than Doom 64 TC since Doom EX has it's own 1 simple wad unlike Doom 64 TC which ya have to use a Doom 2 wad......

If it's possible you to add the new power up from Skulltag like Timefreeze and Quad Damage for Doom 64 EX?

So Startan3 will be gone for a week or even longer huh. That suck @$$!!

Oh well may I ask any of the to please put up a temp download link for Doom 64 EX 1.1c until Startan3 starts working again?

And thanks Nuxuis for that link, I will now keep on track for Kaiser's new Doom 64 levels for EX. Can't wait for that Doom 64 map maker too!!

Wow, thanks everyone!

Also, I would like to note that I've started work on the SDL/OpenGL conversion of Doom64EX, which hopfully should be portable and a lot more efficient than the current directx api.

It would be cool if ya can ask unknownna to use the coop marines codes or for unknownna to make a coop marines wad for Doom 64 EX.

Now it's ok.

I've played and would like to suggest somethings:

*You could add a "aim" options in the display.
*Also the mouse could move more faster.I put the sensibility to the max but it's still low for me.
*The sound meters are very inaccurate.I lowered only a little and the sound was already off.
*The sky sometimes show some strange parts.

One more thing:how can I build stages for this too?I didn't found anything to help me in the other thread.

Hey kaiser, I have a slight issue regarding performance on v1.1c.

I have the music priority set to lowest, and I run it at 1680x1050. Full screen, it stutters a bit...whereas windowed runs smoothly.

Specs:
AMD64 X2 4200+ 2.2 Ghz
2 gigs DDR400 RAM
nVidia GeForce 8800GT 512mb
Windows XP Pro SP3

Doom64 IWAD: 16,347,272 bytes
Doom64.z64 : 8,388,608 bytes

These are 'size' not 'size on disk'

It also seems to crash every once in a while when loading a save game.

I realize you hate mp3 music wads (You've stated this time and time again) but is there any other reason your unwilling to make this compatible with the absolution mp3 wads? Music emulation is seriously killing the performance for some people.

Edit: Also, not sure if this has been reported already, but here's an issue I had:

I am aware of the intermission bug.

Also, you may want to try the newest version which uses opengl/sdl: http://doom64ex.sourceforge.net/TempFiles/Kex_Engine.zip You'll need to recreate the iwad from the updated wadgen utility.

Let me know if the performance problem persist in this version.

Played to level 3 at 1680x1050 fullscreen (edited the .cfg to get that) and it ran just fine.

Had some graphical anomalies, but I figured I would considering your switching to opengl and this is just a beta.

Edit: I forgot to mention, that whenever I start this build, the mouse doesn't work, (I can see the mouse over the renderer and clicks register, but movement does not do anything.)

Minimizing out and back into the game fixes this though.

I can see the sky on the far end of those chain cages.

I tested the same spots at 1024x768 (went full screen) to see if maybe it was the odd resolution I run, but it still did it.

The cage anomaly is some retarded depth issue with the alpha blending I've been trying to fix that for quite some time but ran out of ideas. I am also aware about the sky, but I am not sure when I'll get around to that since I haven't really focused on making mouselook a main feature.

I happen to be using windowed mode at 1024x768 and I have never seen that before. What video card are you using?

Drivers are relatively up to date (relatively meaning july), new ones just came out a few days ago, guess I'll go download 'em.


Edit: Weird, it's not doing it anymore, and I didn't install the new drivers yet.. didn't change anything.

The depth issue with the sky is probably something trivial. I could take a look if you'd like?

Getting close to announcing the first actual release of D64EX. Currently tweaking networking support and other options, but its just about done.
