Looking for a song genre

I know genre is a loaded topic, but I'm not here to dispute a song's genre. Instead, I'm trying to find similar music.

There's a song in the soundtrack for The Terminator called "Burnin' in The Third Degree", which is pretty standard 80s rock stuff. I really like this sort of music, but the problem is I never know what or who to search for to find more songs that are similar. The best I've done is getting a Bubblegum Crisis soundtrack (the 2032/2033 series). The other day I also heard a song that had lyrics somewhere along the lines of "falling for an angel", but Google searches have turned up nothing. My mom claims that it was an Ace of Base song, but that also turns up nothing.

Anyone know who else, or what else, I can search for to find similar stuff? Blondie is sometimes close, but not quite what I'm looking for (though I do like them). Pandora also doesn't know the song.

For some reason, I'm thinking of the stuff on GTA3 from the 80s station. I think it was the Scarface soundtrack...
