Monks are excellent brawlers. They get flurry of blows and improved unarmed strike at first level.

Too bad they won't have any weapons, heavy armours or shields.

Many years ago when I was playing "The Bard's Tale" trilogy - a monk was "a martial artist, an almost inhuman fighting machine trained to fight without weapons or armour".
I wonder if anything's changed since then?

I'll never understand how a producer could see this movie and choose its director to make Lord of the Rings.

The theology of the two films seems loosely similar, though.

Yeah, Peter Jackson is probably the strangest choice you could ever make for a high-budget epic movie. I think his only real qualification is that he's the biggest LotR geek in history.

Howard Shore was kind of an odd choice for music, too. He had done a lot before that, and some pretty acclaimed stuff, but I don't think he ever worked with a full orchestra before.
