Coopersville Posted December 20, 2008 Legendary has a great soundtrack. 'Only bringing it up, assuming it will never get mentioned. 0 Share this post Link to post
herooftime1000 Posted December 20, 2008 Oh, gosh. I have so many favorites. The better ones being the Main theme from Zelda and Iron blue Intention from Castlevania. 0 Share this post Link to post
GreyGhost Posted December 20, 2008 A few favourites that spring to mind- Elite and Sanxion on the Commodore 64. Populous and Powermonger on the Amiga. 0 Share this post Link to post
Quasar Posted December 20, 2008 To second AgentSpork, I must post some of my favorites from the Prime series. Best music ever: 0 Share this post Link to post
Kirby Posted December 20, 2008 I really like all of the music from Xargon, but some of my favorites are highlighted starting at 4:58 and 6:58 5:35 for this one. Sadly, I can't find any proper music from this game by itself, just what is played on YouTube :P 3:47 0:09 & 5:58 And finally - The first level played in this one. The Bomberman Hero soundtrack also fits in here for me as well - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1nNCXdrHzqk&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Irp6-QJz8V4&feature=related 0 Share this post Link to post
EarthQuake Posted December 20, 2008 My pick goes to Sub-Terrania for the Sega Genesis. The soundtrack is a unique gothic/techno/industrial sort of dealeo. Jesper Kyd is a fucking brilliant musician. Here's a preview of the game with samples of all the tracks: 0 Share this post Link to post
whiteboy567 Posted December 20, 2008 There's way to many awesome VG soundtracks out there(seriously i got about 10 GB's worth of game music)since most people already named off some of the more well known ones, i'll go ahead and list some more underrated soundtracks: Elemental Master- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=srgwgbbNW2Q Journey to Silius- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NjG2ZjPqzzE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KovP1Y-kBtg Gauntlet 4- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QUPWzjnn1RM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6DFlVOL7U8 (3:00 in the video) Last Ninja 2- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9s2uA1jcZn4 The Legend of Xanadu 2- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_w-aNDMl090 Gate of Thunder- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y922x1gU4c4 Sapphire- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M0eXCeGGmDc Lords of Thunder- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-BlpB5WX8E 0 Share this post Link to post

Lich Posted December 21, 2008 While we're posting videos, I might as well post one of Ikaruga since I mentioned it: The music switch near the end of the video really goes with the frantic gameplay. 0 Share this post Link to post

brinks Posted December 21, 2008 I forgot Super Mario 64, Super Ghouls N' Ghosts, Kirby's Adventure, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time, and Sonic Adventure 2 for being the most awesomely cheesy soundtrack ever. 0 Share this post Link to post
khartael Posted December 21, 2008 Danarchy said:Deus Ex (??) Alex Brandon. Very talented musician. Anyway, I'd go with The Neverhood (Terry S. Taylor) Quake II (Sonic Mayhem) Doom I/II (Bobby Prince) Deus Ex (Alex Brandon) Fallout 1/2 (Mark Morgan) 0 Share this post Link to post
Enjay Posted December 21, 2008 For mood, it has to be the Thief games. Other than that, I like the Quake sound track. I know, I know, but I like it. :P Blood had some superb music. I like both the original Syndicate game music and even more so the music from the follow up, Syndicate Wars. [edit] [edit] Battle Squadron on the Amiga had an excellent MOD track. [edit] [/edit] I thought the music in MoHAA complimented the game perfectly. Some of the music in Dredd versus Death was very good but some tracks were definitely meh! And Doom. Some of the original Doom tracks are very, very good. 0 Share this post Link to post
kristus Posted December 21, 2008 right, I got that on cd. Awesome awesome. Also, all the Myst games. Exceptional. 0 Share this post Link to post
Maes Posted December 21, 2008 Dizzy games, especially Prince of the Yolkfolk. Also (dammit how could I forget?) most TAITO games have memorable soundtracks (not surprising, TAITO has a music division called Zuntata and their soundtracks have been released on cassettes, records and CDs way before the internet and heavy console pimping even existed). 0 Share this post Link to post
Prince of Darkness Posted December 22, 2008 Sure, all of it is orchestral, but I would take Myst over metal every day. 0 Share this post Link to post
Bucket Posted December 22, 2008 Acid Tetris had the best music I'd heard in a game up to then. If you don't remember this game, you just aren't awesome. 0 Share this post Link to post
zap610 Posted December 23, 2008 Definitely the Klonoa series. And those are just from the first game, there is also Klonoa 2... 0 Share this post Link to post
