Doom-Child Posted January 30, 2002 What are some of the differences in motherboard chipsets? I've found a great deal on a SiS735 motherboard, but since I've never heard of it, I thought I'd ask around. DC 0 Share this post Link to post
Sephiroth Posted January 30, 2002 words of advice, stick to brand names. they are more supported and drivers are easy to find. if it is what u need and a great deal get it. Personaly i use alot of ASUS, SIS and AOPEN stuff. funny thing is that many of my systems i have built dont have common parts. most of my mother boards i have are american megatrend and pheniox BOIS's, i use alot of AMD and stuff like that. I dont have to much intel stuff which is real common. 0 Share this post Link to post
fodders Posted January 30, 2002 Tomshardware is always a good place to check chipsets 0 Share this post Link to post
Doom-Child Posted January 30, 2002 I'm a huge fan of AMD myself, but I'd never heard of the SiS chipset before, so I just thought I'd ask around a bit before jumping on it. DC 0 Share this post Link to post
Sephiroth Posted January 30, 2002 neverd heard of SIS? they are common and often make AMD boards. they make other shit too. but they do have good motherboards. several of my motherboards have SIS chipsets. I think they are kind of new but they are good to get. 0 Share this post Link to post
