The problem with heads-up hold 'em tournaments

Recommended Posts

- Start with 1024 players
- Outplay your first opponent in 12 hands, taking all his chips in 5 minutes
- Wait 1 hour 40 minutes while two players who can't find the raise button and never bet any good hands shuffle chips back and forth
- Go on to round 2
- Beat your opponent in 5 minutes
- Decide whether to go to bed and forfeit your buy-in

I have other opinions about poker as well.

I always likes that situation where this gambling lord teaches a nerd/prodigy how to calculate and predict how the odds will come out and win every time. a few hours of that will provide some epic action scenes as the astronerd flees from the casino before the gambling lords blow it up.

I figure it depends. I played quite often during the summer and made 2000$ off of a 50$ deposit over 4 seperate tournaments. On the other-hand, I started playing a bit mindlessly and lost 500$ in the process. I've learned to slow down since then, and I find it' more about pacing yourself.

If you play and you feel you can do well, there's no harm in starting off playing with play money and then seeing if you want to go on to real money tables.
