Need some hints to make monsters

hello everybody

i need some hints and some good programs (without slumped) for making monsters

More specifics please. Do you want to learn how to draw sprites? Do you want a program to import the monsters into the WAD file? Do you want to learn how to program the monsters' behaviors using DECORATE or something similar? Also...have you tried searching the internet for any information before asking for help?

MS Paint and/or PhotoShop to draw the sprites

XWE to import the sprites

You will also need to know DECORATE.

The Doom Wiki also has some pretty useful info on creating new monsters or other complex items


And always remember, the search engine is masochistic, use it, it likes it.

The "best" program for drawing is often the one you're most comfortable and familiar with, so it's pretty subjective to recommend something. If you've never used any fancy drawing packages before, you might be best to start off with MS Paint. Quite a few people use Photoshop or PaintShopPro, so you could start learning how to use those, or there's always gimp if you want something free.

Here's a tutorial to get you started that requires nothing fancier than MSPaint and another on the ZDoom forums that was done on graph paper and Photoshop.
