Sonic Robo Blast 2 really made with Doom Engine?

Recommended Posts

With Legacy, more precisely. (GZDoom would be a better choice IMO: they would have slopes in addition to 3D floors, a Sonic game needs slopes.)

Yeah, but SRB2 has been in development for almost 10 years. There was no GZDoom back then and it didn't add full 3D support until a few years ago.

Well, some projects that have been in development for that long never had any problem jumping from engine to engine (and never ever getting close to a releasable status). :p

What I would love to see is slopes that add to your jump height.

In the original sonic games, it just feels so GREAT to jump while going uphill, sending you soaring into the air.

Quake also has this behavior, but slopes don't appear as often in Quake.

And ZDoom's slopes sadly don't have this behavior.

Every idtech engine game got this actually. (From Quake and up)
