Clusterone

Just a Mac OS X question

Recommended Posts

There are several ports that run on Mac. The Doom wiki lists Chocolate Doom, Doomsday, Legacy, Odamex and PrBoom. Also, ZDoom can run on Mac to some extent (some system-dependent features, such as the IWAD picker window, have not been ported; and the makefiles are unfinished so you can't compile universal binaries, but if you manage to compile it if will work, the code can compile and run).

@Gez: Indeed. Given the location of this thread, though, I think Clusterone was asking about Doom Builder in particular, in which case the answer is sadly no. I for one would probably make quite a bit of use of a capable, modern map editor for OS X as well. :\

For native mac there is Yadex, which may or may not need the code slightly edited to compile.
Slade should work on mac, but noone has confirmed it that I know of.

If you can install wine on mac, probably just following the linux instructions should get it to work in wine.
