Nothing. I live in Australia. And... <etc.>

Yea rite , I know that's a loadda crap. I know there are some places that do but you know, that whole.. "america" thing keeps it from being popular with the old people. SO WHAT if America made it big? Get off your high horse and get some candy!

In socialist Europe, we don't need a once-in-a-year holiday to have candy!

Sorry, I'm too busy getting ready for the PARTY POOPER party, which will be a blast!

I shall be pooping on the party. :P

Even though it has been celebrated in Scotland in one form or another since long before the USA was even founded, it's not that big a deal here.

But, yeah, it has been becoming increasingly Americanised (read overly tacky and commercial just like the American version seems to be). At least living in the countryside, I can just pretend that it isn't happening as there won't be many kids around anyway and those who are will have been eaten by the werewolves before they get anywhere near my house.

It's just a night when it's OK for "normal" people to act weird in a socially acceptable not-really-weird-at-all way anyway. The fact that people need to have a night where strangeness and dressing up etc is allowed, instead of doing it whenever they want to anyway, just shows how bland and boring most of the participants are. I really don't like compulsory fun and legitimised strangeness. Much better to do it in your own way and in your own timescale.

Ask me about Halloween. :P

My boss is throwing a NES themed Halloween party this year. I'm figuring all the good, memorable characters are taken. Me and my girlfriend are going.. The #1 runner up so far is her going as the lizard from Rampage and me going as a building with holes punched in it.

Nothing. I live in Australia, although I do enjoy watching the Halloween episodes of the Simpsons. Yeah.

So far as Halloween activities go - trick-or-treating hasn't caught on in my neighbourhood (might be partly due to a shortage of families with young-ish children), costume parties are a possibility, there are few ghost tours on offer in Hobart after sunset and bonfires at the start of the bushfire season aren't a great idea. As for pranks, scary stories, horror movies and pigging out on candy - I don't need a special day to indulge in those.

If there is a PARTY POOPER party - I'll go dressed as an impaled twitching corpse.

On the one hand my university has a football game that day. Unfortunately since they figured everyone will have better things to do at night they scheduled it at 12 noon in Miami heat, which will suck regardless of how buzzed/drunk you go. Either way I'll probaby tailgate, get buzzed and then after the game have a Halloween party in our dorm room.

What I'm really looking forward to though is the day after, Nov 1st. That's when I officially turn 21 :D

EDIT: The give out laced candy option is at 0? Someone is lying

Hey, I act weird and dress up all the time, but I still love Halloween. It's just one of the many excuses to do so.

This haloween I am going to be handing out candy for the brats that ask, and I shall be carving pumpkins into various different band logos and references. This year Im going to do a metallica logo.

I wanna know who has tried those little candy pumpkins. they are good, but someone has told me that they're candy corn disguised as something good. I'm being told that christmas candy is already on the shelf. I guess Christmas is celebrated from October 15th to January 24th.

UPDATE!!!

I am going to a party after all. Still going to use the same costume I've been using the last couple years. Looks like we'll be playing another "zombie grinder". That's when we make a stack full of Call of Cthulhu characters then everyone grabs one and we play a game where we face off against zombies. When someone dies, they grab another character from the stack. We keep going until we "grind" through the rest of the character stack. The first time we did this, it was epic. The second time, it went terrible (the GM decided to use werewolves instead, got sick halfway through, then a second GM suddenly switched to zombies). Hopefully, it will be more like the first (and should, it's the same GM). Also, I shall be making pumpkin cookies.

I'm going to a party where I think the only person I'm going to know is the host, still, whatevs.

I need a costume though and I don't know when the hell I'm going to get one done by Saturday.

Naked man.

No seriously, go to a store still selling costumes, and put a bunch of stuff together.

This is very good advice. That's how I got my current costume. Went to a party store like a week before Halloween. I found these really awesome wizard robes. They were the last pack in the store which was halfway ripped open, but oh well. Then I picked up a pirate dagger that doubled well as a wizard's weapon (skull motif) and it's been a hit ever since. I even grew my beard (partially) for that reason (wizards without beards aren't that cool unless you can pass off some awesome Raistlin-like look). One of these years I'll stop being lazy and get something new.

Halloween themed student night - so I've been unique. I'm going out dressed as FIRE!

This did require MANY hours of scissor and sellotape work with a black hoodie and a load of red, orange and yellow tissue paper. I'll try and find a good picture to upload, as my self-taken one on my laptop doesn't show it off properly.

That's the coolest thing I've heard in a while.

How did you not end up looking like a pile of leaves or bloody Big Bird?

Following with Colorado tradition, we have gotten a major blizzard today, so trick or treaters will consist mainly of arctic explorers and eskimos.

Personally, I'm going to a halloween party as DR HORRIBLE (look it up on youtube :P)
