reki107 Posted November 15, 2009 So, I'm throwing together a small map for my friends and I, and in creating a table, I get a rather large HOM and slime trail above and below the "desk". An example of what I'm doing is this: http://img23.yfrog.com/i/screenshotdoom200911151.png/ What do I do to make the desk a surface? 0 Share this post Link to post
rabbitslayer Posted November 16, 2009 Do you have a texture for floor and ceiling? 0 Share this post Link to post

I have it set to have the floor at 0, where all the rest of the floor is, and the ceiling at 50. this does drag the ceiling down, so I'm trying to find a way to stop it, giving the desk a flat top with my ceiling/floor texture. 0 Share this post Link to post
Super Jamie Posted November 16, 2009 Post your wad, it should be easy enough to spot the error. 0 Share this post Link to post

Been there - done that - the scars have yet to heal. Try setting the floor at 50 (actually, 24 to 32 is a more appropriate height) and the ceiling to match the surrounding sector. 0 Share this post Link to post

Super Jamie Posted November 16, 2009 You have only made 1-sided linedefs for your table sector, you need to have two-sided linedefs and create the table as a separate sector. Like this: http://www.sendspace.com/file/lsbf5z What map editor are you using? Doom Builder should do all this stuff automatically for you. Have a read of Dr Sleep's Doom Builder Tutorial to learn about making sectors properly. 0 Share this post Link to post
