What car(s) do you own.

Recommended Posts

What car(s) do the Doomworld memebers own? I own a 1983 Ford Fiesta Mk1 Finesse. It has 4 gears (manual gear box, not some auto shite) and alarming wheel wobble when it gets past 60mph. Even in England this is seen as a very small car, it is about half the size of my dads Jaguar XJ6 (seen in the background of the picture).

Now show us your cars:

I have a problem with cars. I'm quite good at buying them but I'm very bad at selling them. So I tend to accumulate them. The most I ever had at one time was 7 (2 VW Beetles (real ones, not Golfs in drag), A Mk1 Capri, a Mk3 Capri, a Mk1 Cavalier and an Astra).

I actually just got rid of my 2004 PT Cruiser (great looking car but pretty bad handling) and bought a 2007 BMW 118d M-sport and a 2006 Astra estate to add to the older Astra estate that I already own (but will be getting rid of very soon) a very old Suzuki Swift and a Mk1 Eunos Roadster Japanese Import (MX5 in the UK, Miata in the US).

I only have pics of the Cruiser and Roadster handy though.

And this was my driveway 2 years ago just after I bought the Cruiser. All the cars are mine. :/

These are not my cars but they are exact model right down to the year and color with one exception. Just picture my Sunfire covered in rust.

Old pic, it looks different nowdays. It has seen some modifications to the engine, exhaust, and bodywork.

These pictures below aren't from my cars, but they look almost identical.

Toyota Celica 2.0 16v My first car I bought, apart from the wheels it looks exactly the same.

Ford Escort RS2000 Mk5 My second car, apart from the black sticker on the windscreen its the same as mine.

I only have the Subaru now, sold the others...or crashed them :p

Wow, Enjay. I think we know who to blame for global warming!

I have a 1996 Ford Windstar LX. Yeah, a minivan. At the time, when I got it I needed something to haul band equipment. It actually fit quite a lot: With the rear seat taken out I was able to fit two half-stack cabinets, the heads for the cabinets and for the bass cab, 5 piece drum set with all the fixin's, and the bass cab went in the middle seats--and still had room for a couple passengers. When we didn't have to take our own PA, I was able to basically take everything.

Now, though, since I've moved and don't really foresee a band going down in the future, I need something smaller and more fuel efficient.

I really want to get my hands on either a late 90's Celica, or late 90's Integra. Always had a liking for those cars.

I've had a licence for 4 years, but still haven't bothered buying a car.

That's certainly a subjective opinion, heh. This old IRC quote sums it up for me:

<DooMGoaT> Chrysler PT cruiser = hearse
<DooMGoaT> only I wouldn't be seen dead in one

Also, is that a custom plate on the sporty convertible? You're not having a midlife crisis or anything are you? :p

I have a '96 Toyota Tercel with over 180k miles on it. Here's an old picture from when I lived in Washington. I currently live in Oregon, and the old license plate is hanging on my bedroom wall. I now have one of these on the opposite side from the FSM emblem.

As impressive as Enjay and Spellchecker's posts are, this post wins.

I'm too embarrassed to show pictures of my car since:

a) The front passenger window is missing because...

b) ...someone broke into it not long ago and stole my stereo

c) I just got into a minor fenderbender only about a month later and there's slight damage on the front bumper

It's a red 1995 Dodge Neon that had less than 80,000 miles on it when I drove it off the lot. It's on its last legs and I'm saving up for this red 1995 Pontiac Firebird (you have good taste BTW, Technician) on a used car lot that I'd like to work on a bit and learn to drive stick with.

ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM

But seriously, that is the closest image I've got for the ole' bitch. She's got 140,000 miles on her and drives great, and has never been in an accident before- even getting over 27 MPG on average. However, right now she's got some leak in the coolant system, a short in the left turning lights, and problematic (at best) tire seals- the left front tire (you know, the driver side) has to be refilled once every 3-5 days. Just today, going into school took it from 16 Psi to 8 (!).

Indeed. Bloodshedder sets a horrible example here. :p

Also, he drives the same Oldesmobile boat my neighbour had. It's identical right down to the colours! I liked that thing, even though it was probably evil on gas.

My dad had a Celica from the 70s. It was brown. Bleagh! Also, it had the worst seatbelt design I've ever seen. Other than that it was ok -- well, until my brother and I filled the gas tank with water when we were little.

Enjay needs to own more cars :P

My first car was a 1980 BMW 318i, it would still chop a new 1.8L Mitsubishi Lancer up a hill which was okay for a 20 yearold car with 350,000km on the clock. Pisses your mate off who thinks his Lancer is good :P

After that I owned a succession of old rear wheel drive Toyota Corollas which I used to fix and modify as a hobby. I've actually got some degree of internets fame for an FAQ I compiled about what parts go where and can be interchanged or improved with whatever else.

My favorite one was a 1972 KE25 Coupe (these are often called a Mango in Japan and America). I'd completely rebuilt the stock 1290cc engine with oversized pistons, a lumpy cam, a head I ported myself, twin SU carbs, a heavy duty clutch and plenty of other things. It had custom suspension made to an engineer friend's specifications, he put the same set in his KE25 rally car. The exhaust was only 2" but had loud mufflers - 120dB at idle - you'd have to wear earplugs if you drove more than half an hour.

I did every bit of work on it myself. I used to race it in local hillclimbs, it would also happily go off the tacho, off the speedo, and keep up with a modern 2L EFI car until just shy of 200km/h. One night after a Toyota enthusiast's gathering (second last photo) I put it into a tree at 40km/h (last photo). The End.

I've also owned a Toyota Hilux and a Mazda van, but they were boring commercial vehicles. As they had no weight in the back, you could get them well sideways. Now I have a stock 1994 Corolla which has such great features as air conditioning, being able to hear yourself think while you drive it, and never needing repair.

1994 Chevy Camaro Z28

Well if you want a list of cars I've driven, here they are:

1993 Jeep Cherokee (my dad's old car)
1991 Lincoln Towncar (repo-ed)
1997 Pontiac Firebird (repo-ed voluntarily because it was a piece of shit)
1995 Dodge Neon (what I drive now)

Ed: What happened to your Z28? That's one that seems a shame to let go of voluntarily...

Oh, I forgot to mention. 15-20 MPG city-highway. And about 197,000 miles.
