Heh...divide it by two and you get 100101101001, which is 2409. Subtract 1984 to get 425. Divide by 25 to get 17, a prime number. Optimus Prime was a robot. The government owns robots. Conspiricy? Well, you have the facts!

That number has exactly six 0s and six 1s. You can put each 0 and 1 together to form exactly six pairs.

Six 0s. Six 1s. Six pairs. 6, 6, 6.

TEH EVIL!!!!!!!!111!

(Sorry, couldn't help myself. All this fun positivist math... ;)

Last time the date was a palindrome was over a 1000 years ago and unless the way we represent the date changes it will never happen again.

The UK way is slightly different, we use the dd/mm/yy format but even so we get at 2 mins past 8pm 20:02 20.02 2002 another palindrome
Such a combination of time and date - known as palindromic because it reads the same forwards as it does backwards - has not occurred since our ancestors in the Middle Ages lived through 11:11.11.11.1111 - 11 minutes past 11am on November 11 1111.

The next time all three elements of time, date and year will be palindromic will be 110 years from now - at 12 minutes past nine on the evening of December 21 2112. After that, it will be an extremely long wait until the next triple palindromic date on March 30 3003.

London School of Economics mathematics professor Bernhard von Stengel says there will be many double, or date-year, palindromes in the 21st century, but only in February, since "02" flips neatly into the year prefix "20".

Von Stengel says today's bit of time magic shows how stimulating maths can be.

"`I think it's a lot of fun," he says. "It's great, because it encourages people to play with numbers."

Israeli psychic Uri Geller plans to lead a day of spiritual meditation today.

"Palindromic dates have always had very supernatural auras about them," he says. He wants his followers to "think positively" at four moments today - 11:11am, 13:11pm, 20:02pm and 11:11pm - to encourage peace-building and personal growth.

"`For two to three minutes there will be a massive surge of positive consciousness," he affirms. "It will be a moment to bring healing, a moment to bring peace."

The palindrome gets its name from the Greek "palin dromo", which means "to read back again". The first palindromic year, according to the Bible, was 4004BC - believed to be the year of Creation.

The Athenians in Greece believed that palindromic dates had special cleansing power and the Egyptians revered them as a time of healing.

Palindromic years typically fall every 110 years or so - 1771, 1881 and so on - except at a mill-ennium's end, when the gap shrinks. The last time we had a palindromic date which included the time was last October 1, at two minutes past 10 in the morning (10:02.01.10.2001). We are the only generation between the Norman Conquest and the year 3000 to live through two such years.

Palindromes originated in language and date back to a man called Sotades of Maronea, or Sotades the Obscene, a Greek poet who lived around 300BC.

A famous Greek example is "niyonanamhmatahmomanoyin", meaning "wash my trangressions, not my face". The longest modern palindrome in language is the Finnish word saippukuppias - a man who sells soap.

Many people believe a palindromic date must hold special significance. Romantics flocked to book wedding venues for today and Camelot expects a surge in sales of lottery tickets.

But is it a lucky day, or could doom be impending? Back on November 11, 1111 at 11:11, the Battle of Hastings was long past and King Henry I was still sitting happily on the English throne.

Absolutely nothing remarkable happened during that rare palindromic minute.
