After seeing the actual airing of the show, I can proudly say I pulled a P&T on a woman that was anti-porn for a large group presentation in High School.

She was about as dumb, too.

The plots of porno videos are so exaggerated stupid that it's an automatic indication that what you are watching is entertainment and not an instructional video on how to get laid, and the best approach to do it.

I've noticed this is mainly some American obsession to have a plot in a porno flick. German, Russian and Polish porn rarely bothers with it.

Sometimes (but not always) the Japanese try to force plots in too. Either way, although the plots in porn movies almost always are ridiculous and stupid, I wouldn't say they are completely meaningless. There are two reasons to watch porn: To jack off and to fantasize about having sex, and having plots can be beneficial to the latter, depending on your tastes.

I'd say it's more worrying if you just watch porn to jack off, since it goes to show how one-tracked your mind is. The good sex therapists (like the guy in the video) would agree. ;)

Some people are just retarded. Don't like porn? Don't watch it. The same bullshit arguements are thrown at everything. BAWWWW they see a domination porn video, they're gonna rape!!! My kid plays CoD and calls down Tactical nukes! He's gonna become a weapon of mass destruction hoarder.

Just because you find something distasteful doesn't make it wrong, and sure as shit doesn't mean you have any right to piss on someones parade because they do enjoy it.

edit; also, the existence of male-on-male porn completely negates their argument.

The only porn that I've ever seen where the plot was 'acceptable' (actually I still remember a good bit of it) is this. From what I've heard old stuff released by Vivid tended to focus on the plot quite a bit.

It's also kinda hard to fantasize about completely ridiculous and stupid situations :P For that I prefer French softcore that often gets aired on TV late at night, even though most of it follows the generic theme of 'bored couple gets adventurous'.

As for Japanese porn, all I've ever seen was variations of 'seduced schoolgirl/secretary/bosses daughter/friend's wife' etc.

So if a woman signs a contract and is told exactly what is going to happen and then consents, that is somehow rape. Someone should buy these women a dictionary.

As for porn being degrading to women, the men in porn aren't exactly Einsteins. They all look like brutish apes that just got out of prison.

Bullshit! is one of the greatest shows ever made. Their WTC Conspiracy episode is their best one, IMO.

I'm always puzzled by these kind of answers (to people claiming they don't watch porn). Are you ashamed of watching porn ? Do you seek validation by believing everyone else watches porn just like you ?

Here's a hint : people have different tastes, in sex as in everything else.

Personally, I don't enjoy porn - admittedly, my only experience with it being a few softcore videos I watched as a teenager, but it was enough to see I'm not aroused by watching two total strangers go at it. If I'm interested in a woman in that way, seeing another guy have sex with her is definitely not something I want to see.

I actually prefer softcore porn. I don't need to see an HD closeup of someone's asshole being penetrated.

What's so hard to get about it? The notion just seems absurd, is all. It'd be like if you said, "I can't stand ice cream." Do you think anyone would actually believe you? Do you think anyone who questioned you would be doing so out of a need for validation? No, they'd question you because it's such a bizarre and unusual position to take. If you don't care for porn, fine, that's your call to make, but don't act like people won't be weirded out.

I suppose you can chalk it up to me being an eternal optimist constantly surprised to see closeminded people who will vehemently argue against the idea that everyone doesn't behave in the exact same way, then.

In the circles I'm in, the notion of watching porn would seem... Well, absurd might be a strong word, but being weirded out definitely fits. If you're looking for sex, why not do the real thing ?

Regardless, I can understand other people might feel differently so don't call out people on that... I think porn is pretty entertaining! I'll watch anything by anyone consenting for a laugh or otherwise. Do I respect the involved actors? More often than not, no. Do I think all women are porn actresses and should be treated like dirt? No. Do I think porn actors and actresses should be treated like dirt? Not unless they're being paid to do so. Do I have a strange desire to watch child pornography because I find adults screwing amusing? Nope.

Porn doesn't do it for me, so I just use my imagination. The video made some really pretentious people look like fools.

Softcore porn, lesbian porn, and especially gay porn is basically all the argument thats needed for the feminist leaning anti-porn argument. They focus on one subset of porn that sometimes involves some undesirable practices. Mention any of these things and they all look like a deer in the headlights and have no clue what to say. And that's usually the end of that conversation.

The Evangelical-Christian-Conservative argument cannot be flouted by such reasonable means (because, as we know, if you could reason with religious people, there would be no religious people), so the best way to deal with those kinds of people is to set them on fire and go about your day.

BS! is a great show. I used to watch it until we stopped ordering movie channels. Now it's on netflix instant queue, so GREAT!!!!

I watched this whole one... Yeah, needless to say, the argument almost makes itself.
